Privacy policy

This policy covers ucr-registration.cc, operated by DotMotusCompliance Inc. It explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

1. What we collect

Information you give us through our forms, by phone, or by email:

• Legal business name and the state your business operates from
• USDOT number and MC number where applicable
• Business classification — carrier, broker, freight forwarder, leasing company
• Commercial motor vehicle count
• Your name, phone number and email address
• Anything you write in a free-text field or send us in correspondence

Payment information is handled by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our systems.

Basic technical information is collected automatically when you visit: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring page. This is standard server and analytics data.

2. Why we collect it

• To prepare and submit the UCR filing you asked us to handle
• To confirm your fee bracket and the total before you pay
• To contact you about your filing, including sending your confirmation receipt
• To respond to questions you send us
• To keep records of work performed and payments taken
• To meet our own legal and accounting obligations

3. Who we share it with

We share what a filing requires with the systems and parties that filing requires, namely:

• The Unified Carrier Registration Plan's National Registration System, to submit your registration. This is the point of the service.
• Our payment processor, to take payment.
• Service providers who host our site, email and records, bound to handle the information only for us.
• Authorities, where we are legally required to produce information.

4. What we don't do

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with data brokers or lead generators. We do not use your USDOT number or contact details to market unrelated products on behalf of third parties.

5. How long we keep it

We keep filing records for as long as needed to provide the service, answer later questions about a filing, and meet tax and accounting requirements. Where we no longer need information, we delete it or remove what identifies you.

6. How we protect it

The site runs over an encrypted connection. Access to filing records is limited to staff who need it to do the work. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise — but we don't keep more than the filing requires, which is the most effective protection available.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
• Correct anything inaccurate
• Delete information we no longer need to keep
• Stop sending you non-essential email

Email Support@DotMotusCompliance.com and we'll respond. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on a request.

Some information we cannot delete on request — a filing already submitted to the UCR Plan is in their system, not ours, and records we're required to keep for tax purposes stay for the required period.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights over your personal information. Those rights apply regardless of anything in this policy.

8. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies only where they're needed for the site to work and, if enabled, for basic analytics that tell us which pages people read. We don't run advertising trackers on this site.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.

9. Children

This is a commercial service for businesses. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
